Any decision made by the CCl4 Sysops in relation to this service shall be most certainly final. 1. Email Addresses 1.1 Active Use All users issued with a ccl4.org email address should make active use of that email address. In the case of users who have more than one ccl4.org email address at least one of the addresses has be to be in active use. 1.2 Bigamy A CCl4 mason should first and foremost promote the joys of viewdata in the form of CCl4, secondly that of viewdata in general, but most certainly not new-fangled 'alternatives'. Respect must at all times be paid to other sections of this AUP, especially section 1.4 1.3 Applications Applications for additional email address (or for email address for new users) should be made to applications at ccl4 dot org along with a decent reason for us to give you an(other) address. Applicants will then be sent the CCl4 Masonic Suitability Questionnaire. Completed Questionnaires will be judged by the masons at large, with the Sysops having the final and ultimate vote. 1.4 Oaktree We won the war! we won the war! CCl4 masons are actively encouraged to be smug and joyous whenever the now deceased Oaktree are mentioned. 1.5 The CCl4 Mailing List - The CCl4 Lodge All users with a ccl4.org email address are automatically connected to the mailing list l-ccl4@ccl4.org and are not permitted to unsubscribe while they still have a ccl4.org email address. The list shall be refered to as The CCl4 Lodge. 2. Article/Email content 2.1 Reply-to Postings made from ccl4.org addresses must have a ccl4.org address in the reply-to header. 2.2 Smileys Smilies are absolutely forbidden from any ccl4.org posting. If absolutely necessary grins (such as are permitted) but should be used with upmost care and consideration. Users found to be alternating between email addresses in order to avoid a breach of this AUP will have their ccl4.org address removed. 2.3 Irreverency This is an upmost consideration and should be maintained at all times in all areas. ** Section 2.3 overrides all other AUPs and newsgroup charters ** 2.4 Organization CCl4 users should also make sure that their organization header within any news/mail posting contains "CCl4" somewhere within it. 3. Net Abuse 3.1 Spam Any kind of spam, unsolicited email, excessive multi-posting or excessive cross-posting will result in a removal of a users ccl4.org address possibly without warning. Falsly reporting a ccl4.org MX for spamming will also result in termination of membership. 3.2 Complaints Any complaints regarding posts from ccl4.org addresses should be mailed to postmaster at ccl4 dot org. The postmaster will then decide on the appropriate action to be taken. Breaches of the AUP as defined in section 3.1 will almost always result in the removal of the address, other situations may cause a warning to be issued, or more likely, they would be completely ignored and merely used as an 'in house joke' for us bigwigs at ccl4.org. Any warnings or correspondence will be cc'd to the complainer and the user. 4. The Web Site 4.1 Correspondence The address for any correspondence regarding the ccl4.org web site is webmaster at ccl4 dot org. People should mail this address with requests for sections within the site as well as any complaints regarding the site. 5. Sales 5.1 Correspondence Requests for blow up Babbs, let down Griffins, sex, bondage, other 'personal services', arse shots, price guides or abuse please apply in writing. 6. CCl4 6.1 Connecting People in possession of ccl4.org email address are required to connect to CCl4 as frequently as possible. Whether they connect to CCl4-dialup or CCl4-telnet is largely irrelevent; the point is that they must. Viewdata clients can be found on the CCl4 web site, just point them at fish.ccl4.org or bang.ccl4.org (port 23). There is also a viewdata Java applet at http://fish.ccl4.org/java/ 7. Other Issues 7.1 Anything which isn't covered in this AUP is almost certainly the fault of hick [Gareth Babb] and he should be informed. This includes civil war and 'acts of god'. 7.2 Typos are acts of god. 7.3 The Reason is 503 and The Reason is insane. 7.4 The CCl4 Policy Documents (which can be found on CCl4, *POLICES#) are considered part of this AUP and should be consulted by all users. 7.5 On the shout of fish, reply bang.
